because you can watch t.v. on the internet for free. Netflix is pretty much cheaper then cable. And Itunes you can buy a season of a t.v. show for about 15 dollars.

Paul Nipkow, Gugliemo Marconi, Lee De Forest, Vladimir Zworykin, and Philo T. Farnsworth. Pg. 162. Commercial T.v. first appeared at the world fair in New York city on April 30, 1939. Nielsen is the company that dominates ratings.

Who was Newton Minow? Do you agree or disagree with his views on television and why? Do any of the issues that Minow described still exist today with television, and if so list them? Extra Credit - List any of the quiz shows that were part of the scandal and describe what happened?
Minow was the FCC chairmen of his time. Pg. 170. I do agree with what he said, a majority of T.v is a wasteland, and it’s the networks duty to provide intelligent messages that will benefit people for their message will ring for many generation and is capable of shaping the future. The only issue I see today that would be in the same views of Minow would be reality T.v. That is the biggest problem, it literally rots the views brain into not being able to differentiate between a good and bad idea.

Television became global with satellite technology. Which television based technology satellite, cable, wireless or the Internet will be the dominant distributer of television technology and why do you think so?
I think eventually the internet will be the dominant distributer of television. As it is already you can pretty much watch T.v. free from the right websites such as, Youtube.com, Hulu.com, and letmewatchthis.com. You can download shows from apples Itunes and from various other music stores via internet as well.
